Found in South-East Asia, Thailand is a magical realm of Far
East mystery and excitement. As you might imagine, the country
is actually a popular destination for people from all over the
planet. Home to great food, a wonderful tropical climate,
friendly people, fascination culture and some of the world's
absolute best beaches, Thailand has many things to offer for
many different types of people. As you may have guessed from
that description, Thailand is probably the most visited country
in South-East Asia.
Here are some things you should think about before planning a
trip to Thailand:
Weather - Being tropical,
it is mostly hot and humid throughout the year. That said,
November through February is the coolest in the country.
Temperatures are hottest from March to June. If you're worried
about getting the best weather when you travel there, you may
want to take this into consideration.
Culture - When you travel
in Thailand, you will definitely see the Buddhism influence.
It is closer to India than other Asian countries in its
practice of the religion however. Dancing and music are also
very popular in Thailand.
Holidays - If you like
holidays, you'll be pleased to learn that Thailand celebrates
quite a few of them over the year. You should note that banks
are typically closed during these many holidays.
Places to Go and Things to See in Thailand:
Kanchanaburi - The capital of
Thailand is full of the hustle and bustle of any large
metropolitan area in the world, but it also holds its own
unique charm and flavor. If you're coming to Thailand, at
least some of the journey should take place in Kanchanaburi.
Pattaya - Famous (or
infamous) for go-go bars and beer clubs, Pattaya is one of the
most popular destinations for people traveling to Thailand.
Recently, effort has been made to make this a family friendly
destination as well.
Chiang Rai - This is the
gateway to the golden triangle - the borders of Thailand,
Myanmar and Laos. Although it's a town of less than 100,000
people, it's still an interesting destination and offers
access to other Asian countries as well.
Ko Pha Ngan - With miles of
coastline, this area is well known for its "Full Moon
Parties." If you're not in the country during a full moon,
don't worry as their are half-moon and other festivals and
parties in this area as well. If you want to party in Thailand
with lots of other people, you should check it out.
Khao Yai National Park -
Waterfalls and jeep safaris at night highlight some of the
reasons you might travel here. If partying isn't your thing,
this is another great way to enjoy Thailand.
Thailand may have a reputation around the world as a place to
go to party and have fun drinking and carousing, but there's
actually quite a lot of other things to do if you travel there.
When it comes to expenses, Thailand is considered very cheap,
even when compared with Asian standards. This is one of the
reasons its such a popular destination. It's also a shopper's
paradise because most items are so inexpensive in the country.
You can truly live like a king in Thailand without having to
spend too much money.
Whether you're into hiking, scuba diving, rock climbing or many
other outdoor activities, there are places in Thailand that will
cater to your desire for adventure and adrenaline. So as you can
see, there's partying and a thriving nightlife in Thailand, but
there's also plenty of other things to do for families and those
who don't like to party it up in public. When you factor in the
inexpensive prices, a trip to Thailand can really double your
travel budget or more. You're going to have to put up with other
tourists in large numbers, but if that isn't a problem, Thailand
might be the budget Asian adventure you're been dreaming about.
